A man so obsessed with his pet parrots took body modification to the next level by having both his ears cut off.

The animal nut named Ted Richards had his face and eyeballs tattooed to look like his favourite pets Ellie,Teaka, Jake, Timneh, and Bubi. Over the years, the retired shoe factory worker had a split tongue, 50 piercings and 110 tattoos just to satisfy his obsession with his feathery friends.

Dubbed as the Parrot Man, Richards did extreme measures to look like his favourite pet.

Although he was teased about his ears when he was younger, Richards denied that it was his reason for doing the extreme body modification.

According to Richards, the only issue he had with his severed ears was keeping his glasses in place which he quickly resolved by attaching two small metals pins to the side of his head.

As for the severed ear tissue, Richards revealed that he had given it to a friend who will appreciate them.

But Richards is not yet done with his transformation. In fact, he is looking for a surgeon who can transform his nose into a beak so that he could fulfil his flight of fancy.

To complete his transformation, Richards plans to have his nose transformed into a beak.

Meanwhile, Dr Marc Pacifico member of the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, condemned the person who performed the bizarre surgery.

I would like to think whoever did this is not medically qualified because that would call into judgment their ethics and morals, Pacifico said.

As an accredited plastic surgeon you have to have a great sense of moral and ethical responsibility. I can only assume the ethical code and moral compass of whoever did this does not, he added.
